Timothy Neat writes about the Williamsons in his book The Summer Walkers' (Edinburgh: Canongate, 1996)
The Williamsons - Katie and her brothers John and Peter, from Ardgay, are seen here with their horse and cart on one of their last journeys by this means. They were leaving Inchnadamph, where they had spent a few days, and were on their way home. The journey would have taken two or three days. Such sights are not to be seen today. If any travel, it is in cars and caravans, not with horse and cart or on foot.
